We’ve had a pretty crazy couple weeks here in the used book department, projects have been completed and we’ve made an appearance at a local event here in Edmonton for the Table Top Cafe Community Market. During this we’ve had a few interesting buys and trades and some exciting news for future events. Take a look below at some of the excitement here in Used Books!
Several interesting titles for our fiction section including some harder to find Maguire and Lem. Plus several General Fiction titles to beef up our section
Several anthology works from a variety of authors and genres within!
A batch of exciting genre fiction that showed up as I was writing this post. Popular classics from Adams and Chabon, as well as a rad anthology of writing discussing superheros (tons of surprising authors including Gaiman, Picoult, Grossman, and more!)
Some more titles from authors who’ve gotten a popularity boost due to the recent events down south
Some much welcomed additions to our Gender Studies section with a range of different focuses.
Some contemporary titles to flesh out our art section ranging from how-to’s to art features
Some intriguing titles on a wide variety of subjects from language to how people use and view the space around them.
Coffee Table Books
Some interesting large format books giving us a Coffee Table section. I break my half off retail pricing model for these titles usually pricing them between 20 and 30 dollars (rather than the $40 price-tag I would do otherwise)
Some random and small format titles. Some interesting postcard collections here featuring hunks and a variety of art.
Over the last few weeks I’ve been inventorying a most of our collectible stock. This project has been completed and these books have all been posted online through abebooks.com. As a result we’ve sold several books and are now international booksellers!

Things to come
Tons of interesting stock coming in but we’ve got many more on the way. By the end of the weekend I’ll have another couple buys come through giving us some influx in the sci fi/fantasy genre.
We’ve also got quite a few events coming on the horizon ranging from in store events like our Game Master Support Group on Feb 13 to out of store markets such as the Pop Culture Fair and several others we’re currently lining up.
So stay tuned for all sorts of exciting books and news as they develop!
